Award winning director, screenwriter, producer and editor, Maria Rosenblum grew up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. She attended Bennington College and received her MFA from UCLA's program in film directing. Most recently she produced and edited "South Mountain," directed by Hilary Brougher ("Stephanie Daley"), featuring Talia Balsam and Scott Cohen which premiered at SxSW 2019 and was a SPOTLIGHT FILM – BAMCINEMA FEST 2019. She co-produced the independent feature film, “Thrasher Road," (winner of the Stony Brook Film Festivals 2018 Spirit of Independent Filmmaking Award) directed by Samantha Davidson Green. Maria’s award winning films, "Railroad" (16mm/color/16min.), nominated for Best Independent Short Film at the Golden Film Festival and winner of the Caucus for Television, Producers, Writers & Directors Foundation Award; and "Magnetic Poles" (35mm/color/29min.), nominated for the Relentless Drive Award at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival, winner of the Audience Choice Award for Best Short Film at the Brooklyn International Film Festival and winner of the FujiFilm New Filmmaker Award have screened world wide. She was also the recipient of the James Bridges Award for Excellence in Film Directing. Maria produced Samantha Davidson Green's Audience Award winner for Best Short Film at the Tribeca Film Festival, "Dead End Job" (35mm/color/25min). Currently she is co-directing and editing a documentary, “STRIPER no art without life” and simultaneously editing a yet-to-be-titled documentary about a female diesel drag racer.
